LIONS BLANK SACRED HEART PREP
The JSerra Girls Soccer team extended its’ run of standout performances on Saturday with a 3-0 nonleague victory over visiting Sacred Heart Prep of Atherton at JSerra Catholic High School.
The Lions posted their fourth shutout triumph in their last five matches and improve their record to 8-4-1.
JSerra established control of the match soon after the opening kickoff and took a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute.
Sophomore Bria Johnson found an open space between Gator defenders in the box and tapped a shot that rolled into the goal.
Senior Sydney Schuler increased the advantage in the 21st minute, as she slotted a well-placed, left-footed shot near the top of the box that found the back of the net to make it 2-0.
Sophomore Maddyn Baziak put the final goal on the scoreboard in the 55th minute, as she blasted a hard line drive shot near the top of the box that glanced off the post before going into the goal.
JSerra will take to the road on Thursday, as they will square off with San Marcos at San Marcos High School.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
