LIONS HONORED ON ALL-COUNTY FOOTBALL TEAM
Five members of the JSerra Football team were honored alongside their Orange County peers with selection to the 2024 All-County team.
Senior offensive lineman Jake Flores earned All-County First Team honors.
Flores, who inked his college commitment to the University of Washington, helped spearhead one of the county’s top lineman groups that helped pave the way for JSerra ball carriers to average 5.1 yards per rush and score 23 rushing touchdowns this season.
Senior linebacker Madden Faraimo was also named to All-County First Team.
The University of Notre Dame signee consistently displayed himself as one of the nation’s elite talents this fall, accumulating a team-high 96 tackles (41 solo), four pass breakups, an interception, and two blocked kicks.
Junior defensive end Simote Katoanga, who registered team-highs in tackles for loss (10), sacks (4), and blocked kicks (4), was selected to the All-County Second team.
Senior defensive back and return specialist Logan Christensen was also named to the All-County Second Team.
The UNLV-bound Christensen recorded 82 tackles on the season, including a team-leading 42 solo tackles.
Christensen was also one of the county’s most dynamic special teams performers, averaging 35.2 yards per kickoff return, and producing five kickoff returns of over 40 yards.
His two return touchdowns of 99 and 92 yards respectively were the two longest plays of the season for the Lions.
Junior offensive lineman Niniva Nicholson, who also played an integral role in the Lions rushing success this season, was also selected to the All-County Second Team.
