The JSerra Ice Hockey team suffered a 7-6 shootout defeat to the Saddleback United Wranglers in a ADHSHL game at the Anaheim Ice Rink in Anaheim.

Goals by sophomores Griffin Blake, Caden Fernandez, and Madison Michie staked JSerra to a 3-2 lead after the first period.

Michie completed her first hat trick of the season with goals at the 8:47 and 4:00 marks of the second period to increase the Lions’ advantage to 5-2.

Junior Cassius Millett’s goal with 9:29 left in regulation pushed the Lions lead to 6-2.

But the Wranglers rallied with four goals in the final 8:46 to force overtime and then prevailed in the shootout for the win.

The Lions are 6-8 on the season.
