LIONS TAKE TRINITY OPENER OVER ORANGE LUTHERAN
The JSerra Girls Basketball team tipped off Trinity League play on Tuesday by defeating the Orange Lutheran Lancers 53-46 at Orange Lutheran High School.
The win improves the Lions to 11-8 on the season.
It is also the program’s first Trinity League victory in more than three years, their last coming on January 8th 2022 against Santa Margarita.
After holding a one-point lead after the first quarter, sophomore Shae Talleur connected on three three-pointers in the second quarter to spark a 17-5 burst that propelled the Lions to a 32-19 halftime lead.
Orange Lutheran cut the deficit to five points entering the fourth quarter, but the Lions made nine crucial free throws in the final period to help cement the win.
Talleur connected on five three-pointers and finished with a team-high 17 points.
Sophomore Vivian Grenald and sophomore Kayla Rice each added 12 points.
