Junior Finnian Hannegan of the JSerra Wrestling team enjoyed another stellar performance at the San Clemente Rotary Championships Wrestling Tournament at San Clemente High School by placing fifth overall in the 159 pound weight class.

Hannegan defeated Tesoro’s Trey Byun by pinfall, Webb’s Ethan Cao by technical fall, and Costa Mesa’s Andreas Ayala by pinfall.

Hannegan faced off against Oscar Farias of Santa Ana High School, the tournament’s top overall seed in the weight class, in the semifinals round.

The two engaged in a tight, three-round battle that saw Farias score the match-deciding points with 31 seconds left in the final round to rally for a 12-10 decision on his way to winning the weight class title.
