The JSerra Boys and Girls Swimming teams capped stellar showings in their season-opening competitions in the finals of the Capistrano Valley Relays at Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo.

In the girls’ 400 Free Relay, the senior quartet of Sydney Willson, Ava Withey, Elle Treska, and Caroline Powell emerged victorious with a clocking of 3:38.37, dropping more than four seconds off their time from Thursday’s preliminaries.

Junior Andrea Bintintan, Treska, Withey, and Powell teamed up to place third in the 200 Free Relay in a time of 1:42.07.

JSerra added another third-place finish in the 300 Breast Relay, with six swimmers (Bintintan, senior Danielle Shin, Willson, junior Gabby Elbaz, senior Keira Catanzano, and junior Amanda Garrett) combining to clock a time of 3:29.06, which was more than five seconds faster than their preliminary clocking on Thursday.

JSerra also had top 10 finishes in the the 300 Back Relay (6th in 3:13.04), 300 Fly Relay (8th in 3:04.26), and the 400IM relay (10th in 4:33.18).

In the boys’ competition, the Lions produced top eight placings in the 300 Back Relay (sixth in 2:46.97), the 400 Free Relay (seventh in 3:21.77), and the 300 Fly Relay (eighth in 2:38.63).
